Jazz Singer/Musician/Kick Ass Waitress

Biography

I am a Jazz singer in Chicago and a Music Business major at North Central College in Naperville IL. I sing Soprano (mezzo soprano) and my specialty in college is Jazz Vocals (although I am trained Classically) as well as percussion...yes totally random I know, Opera, Jazz, and percussion. Jazz is a newer love of mine though. As a kid I came from parents who couldn't of been less interested in music. It literally wasn't until I was about 20 that I started listening to Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, and Charlie Parker and they changed everything for me :)!! As far as my love of music, it wasn't until I started listening to Hanson when I was 12 that music even entered my radar. I play piano, flute, piccolo, marimba, bells, vibes, xylophone, dumbek, and other random percussion instruments. I love everything about music it is the air I breath, my nourishment, my soul is empty and my life is meaningless without it. I am what we consider in the music world to be a "theory nerd”...I am starting to get into composition. The stuff I compose tends to be avon-garde and scares people but I like to think out of the box lol. I am really interested in World Music especially African and Indian music...I think Sitar and Sarod music with tabla is fascinating!! I also love everything about art, especially architecture! I like to draw and sketch, and I also like to write poetry, songs, stories, whatever. Lets see what else......I am Italian and VERY proud of it. Grew up most my life in Chicago but spent some time living in Siena Italy...but no, I don't speak much Italian anymore :(, I don't really get to use it so its hidding I think. I am passionate about a lot of things! I love Disney, Disney World is my one of my happy places! I LOVE Star Wars! I am a huge It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fan and won’t die happy till I have taken a picture with GREEN MAN. I love going out to dinner...my favorite food is Spanish tapas which can only be properly enjoyed with good flamenco music, Turkish food, and well sushi isn’t bad either! I love picnics in the park and walking the river walk around sunset...yes cheezy but true I actually do this a lot in the summer. I guess whoever is reading this would want to know something about me as a fan...ummm, well I'm in the fan club so therefore according my my family I have a screw loose somewhere. I will attempt to go to ANY Hanson show within 6 hours of my house...and everyone who knows me knows I have proven that true...haven't missed a IL, IN, or WI show last 3(4?) legs of tour :), muahaha I have a life I swear lol! The funny thing though is what I love most about going to a lot of shows is just watching how the tour works, the staff, roadies, soundchecks, the different venues, are all super interesting to me! I have 3 dogs Coco, Simba, and Mastor Chief (yes he is named after the Halo character 'insert laughter here') and a bunny named Dextor. I love to do community service and I volunteer at my local homeless shelter....and I'm for real I'm not just saying that like this is some Miss America speech. My interests in a nut shell are singing, composing, dancing, traveling, community service, and doing new things. I'm friendly, outgoing, outspoken, talkative, will do anything to help someone who needs it, and well...tired of typing so I'm going to go now...Ciao! :) .....and remember "hakuna matata"

LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST... POEM ABOUT MYSELF: I am odd; enough said really. I am the dumbest smart person you will ever meet. If it's pink and sparkly I want it...and probably stopped listening to you because I was distracted by it :). If it's glass I'll drop it. If my life depends on me being on time have fun at my funeral. If it's alcohol I won't drink it. If it's chocolate you better hide it. If there's karaoke you better invite me. If your getting married I want to plan it. If it's a group I'll try to car pool. If it's Jazz I want to sing it. If it's Hanson I want to listen to it. If it's community service I'll want to help out. If it makes you happy; then it can't be that bad.
