Lucky!! When Hanson came to Illinois State they ditched my Daily Vidette reporter. I was *SO* embarrassed.

I think that Hanson has made me into the person I am today not through their music, but in other ways. I remember being 11 and people teasing me for liking Hanson. Even when I was a kid I "marched to the beat of my own drum" so to speak, and when people were teasing me I wouldn't back down or pretend I didn't like them. I embraced my individuality as well as became tolerant of others uniqueness as well. By encountering musical discrimination I learned to be tolerant of different views on all sorts of things! I sure didn't LIKE getting teased, but to stand up for something I felt passionate for is a tool I continue to use every day!

The best part for me is when guys I am seeing discover who my favorite band is. I usually get the blank stare and the, "you're kidding, right?" I then put on my BIGGEST smile and say, "Hell no! These guys are awesome!" I may not convert someone, but I have gotten compliments on how admirable it is that I stick to my guns. Also, I'm pretty funny about making jokes how I am going to marry Zac one day. I've been told it is endearing. LOL.

So, if Hanson has taught me anything, it is to keep on truckin' through adversity.

Uhmmm.. I know this is completely NON Hanson-y. But I figured something out in college that is very important.

To quote Mean Girls, Halloween is the one night a year a girl can dress like a total .. you know .. and no other girl can say anything about it.

So usually girls go all balls-to-the-walls, right? So they can walk around pretty much naked to get attention (OK. I'm guilty) Until I decided to wear a University of Iowa jersey (Drew Tate, I believe) and be a football player for Halloween my last year of college.

HOLY MOLY. I had about 600 conversations about football that night. Not just guys staring at my cleav.

Anyway, I say be something like a Blues Brother. Any fictional character. (I'd say be a Hanson but we all know that's just silly). Be 100 percent AWESOME.

Sorry - Just saw this one. Literally a few nights ago (8/14 - Chicago show) they played this song and the thought popped into my head but I didn't do it! Ahhh! We are a silly bunch of fans!

Hahaha. Even a Hanson has the Herpes! ;)
