OMG! This is exactly what I want to get back into. For a while I was interning and volunteering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It was AMAZING! For a year I tried finding a job in the non-profit sector, but right now times are REALLY hard for nonprofits (right now I'm a teacher in a Title 1 School). Since a lot of people are loosing jobs/the economy sucks the donations aren't coming in like they were. Therefore, most non-profits are relying on volunteers. My suggestion would be to become a volunteer with an organization that you are really interested in to not only "get your foot in the door", but to prove to your potential interviewers that you are serious and have a background in the nonprofit sector. A couple of good websites with job opportunities are: http://www.liveunited.org/jobs/ and http://www.idealist.org/ I wish you the best of luck! It's tough, but WELL worth it!!!
