I had a problem with anxiety earlier in the year. It was pretty bad. A couple of trips to the ER bad but I started working with an amzing counselor. I think that working with a counselor that specializes in congitive behavorial therapy is the best for this problem. It helps change your way of thinking which is where your anxiety starts. One of my favorite tools that she taught me is to remind myself over and over (and over if needed) that the feelings that I am having are just thoughts and they are not truths. I litearlly repeat to myself "it's just a thought. It's just a thought." It sounds weird but it helps.

When you are in the middle of a panic attack you can also try something called grounding techniques. One that works for me is picking a color and then naming everything around me that is that color. Then pick another color and so on until i calm down. This keeps you present in the moment and out of your thoughts.

My counselor recommended a work book called Mind Over Matter. I worked through it and also really recommend it.

Also, like the person above, I think that yoga is a great tool as well.

Meds can help to an extent, but ideally you don't want to be on them forever. I think its best to figure out different tools to get a handle on the problem yourself.

Sorry this is so long, just thought I'd offer my 2 cents. PM me if you have any other questions or want to chat about it. :)

9/23 Thanks for the Meet & Greet! It was amazing.

French Onion Dip or FOD as it is called in my house is my favorite too so I took a crack at making a homemade version. It is sooooooooooo easy. I doubt you'll ever buy it again. Here's my recipe: French Onion Dip

I just realized that I only posted this in the Members forums and forgot to post it here too. Oops :)

I had the opportunity to meet the guys during the Meet & Greet at the Seattle show (Thank you it was awesome!). I was super nervous so I said the first thing that came to me, "what is your favorite dish?" I was surprised to learn that they are foodies too. Another reason to <3  them. :) I decided to blog about the experience here and included a recipe. Thought you guys might want to check it out :)
