Hooray for Isaac!  He has the nicest smile and seems so genuine.  Isaac, if you read this, you are awesome!

It's depressing, but it's good to know you're not alone.

I live with my parents too and I'm turning 28 next month. Sometimes I want to move to a place closer to my work, but I don't think I can afford to be on my own.  If I ever feel sorry for myself because I'm still at home, I just remind myself that some people who have their own place have no choice and I'm fortunate enough to have parents who are willing to put up with me for as long as they have.

And my parents are from one of those cultures that LinziGenevieve is talking about. My mom thinks that, at my age, it's perfectly normal to be living at home and thinks it's horrible how the expectation in America is to move out as soon as you reach adulthood.

LOL I've asked myself this before.  I would do evaluation and I always though they should have someone evaluate how the Take the Walk campaign has influenced prosocial behavior in their fans.

I'm so excited - the show is today!  I'm going by myself too. I'm used to it but it's always a bummer waiting in line by yourself.

i think you know a lot more people fired than you think - most people don't admit to something like that easily.

That is true.  I guess that's why I came here to gripe.  I feel I need to vent, but not to someone I really know.

Yes, I agree feet can be beautiful and I also agree that I have very beautiful feet and should be a foot model. :p  But when a random stranger walking around downtown stops and exclaims, "You have beautiful feet! GOREOUS!,"  it's a little strange LOL

I've never been asked anything weird, but a few weeks ago, some random person told me I had beautiful feet.

Was he closer to those people? Maybe he didn't feel close enough to you and felt you would judge him or maybe he thought it just might be awkward to stay friends with you.

Thanks, Trish.  I didn't realize so many people got fired.  I've known people who got laid off but not so many who have been fired.  Are you in charge of hiring people too?  When someone applies for a job and indicates that they have been fired, what really happens to their chances of getting hired?

ugaswkr:I worked at a nonprofit organization before.  I left that to work at a trade college.  The two work environments couldn't be more different.

The thing that's tough for me is I didn't go the traditional route with psychology (i.e. clinical or counseling).  The route I went down leads to interesting work and is an emerging, but still very obscure field. I was considering contacting my previous supervisor, not so much to get my old job back, but just to say hello and tell her I would be needing her for a reference.  I had considering getting a doctorate clinical psychology even before everything happened.  Maybe what happened was a sign...

Got my degree in Psychology and my concentration was very loosely related to the job I'd been terminated from.  My coworkers had completely different backgrounds from mine.  I, naturally, have some nasty things I want to say, but probably shouldn't.

The worst part is I left a job with a good reputable organization for this one because this one paid more (not a lot, mind you, just a little more).  Now I'm getting paid nothing.

I intend to mope around just for today - tomorrow I hit the pavement.

I was fired after my 30 day trial period.  I did feel like the job was a bad fit after a few weeks working there and I felt overqualified because I didn't use any of the skills I had learned in previous postions and in grad school.

Trying to see the silver lining - I've learned that I need to really research the job and organization and ask the right questions during the interview before taking it.  I also need to learn to not take the first job I am offered - but that's hard with the economy the way it is.  Now, I have time to look for a job I am perfect for.  My confidence is not shaken, but I'm worried I have to face the stigma of being fired.  I feel like crap.  Help/advice please...  Cry

I just turned on the tv to MTV hits expecting to see Gaga or Katy Perry as usual, but instead, the first thing I saw was Hanson.  I was just in time to see the beginning of Give a Little and started dancing around the living room.  It's early Saturday morning and I was just going to sit around relaxing and being lazy when suddenly I have this sudden burst of energy from seeing Hanson.  Great way to start the weekend.

The crowd was dull? I disagree! I think everyone was pretty stinkin excited, but possibly just not too sure how everything should go since it was being taped. Maybe not wanted to scream at the wrong times, or be too obnoxious, but I think the crowd was pretty energetic. I know I was, and everyone around me were too. @Secret Listener, are you meaning the waiting part, or the fans drove you crazy type of thing? And yes, Hanson was great, as always :) Just wish it was more than 5 songs, but hey, a little of Hanson is better than NO Hanson, anyday!

It was a some obnoxious and rude fans drove me crazy thing.
