So I've been thinking (about something other then u! lol oops too much TBS vid) of converting my Hanson VHS tapes & other tv shows & movies i have taped over the years to DvD. But I'm not sure what I need to buy. I saw this online and was thinking about geting it. Its called Honestech VHS to DVD 4.0 Deluxe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=th5qyQWlJ3I Has anyone used this before?

I used to use a device like that and it worked just fine. :)  Now I just use a dvd recorder/vcr unit.  It transfers vhs to dvd at the push of a button and eliminates the necessity of the computer.

You can buy them for around $100 now at any department store that carries dvd players. Make sure it's a dvd recorder and not just a player. :)

What's the name of brand of the DvD/VCR Recorder u have? For example.. Sony, LG, Panasonic.

Does anyone know of any companies that can do this, like walmart or anything? I want to transfer all the home videos to DVDs for my mom for Christmas and I cant really do it at home since shes home a lot.

I bought a Roxio VHS to DVD device.. I hooked up my TV/VCR to it and the other side of the device goes into your computer and I just press play and hit capture on the computer software and it starts capturing, then I burn it onto DVD.. I did that to all my hanson tapes and home family movies.. although I could tell VHS is going out soon because some of my appearences were messed up so I didn't record those and some were just repeats of what I already had reccorded lol.. I really wish the guys would put Road to Albertane on dvd..

yes , walmart does do it. I worked in their photo lab and its a service that is sent out. I think it was something like 30 bucks for every hour. Its ridiculous. That being said. If one of those machines is only 100 bucks. I would buy it instead of gettng the service. You will end up spending more money getting it professionaly done. Also, you can always sell the machine when your done with it. Just you know. Do it in your room so she doesn't see it!!

we had a vhs converted to dvd done by walgreens i think. i know they definitely do that. i think even cvs does it too. i forgot how much though

You can get any brand based on what store you go to. Just check. I'm sure all of the above you mentioned have a vhs dvd recorder combo unit that you can buy.

I have a dvd recorder . but  I havent been brave enough  to make dvds from  tapes yet . I want to make  my one old Hanson tape into a dvd so bad tho .

i have some hanson things i taped on various vhs tapes and i would like to get them all on dvd someday but together since some of the stuff i taped isn't that long.

im currently doing this now :) but sadly my road to albertane will not copy due to some security device in the tape. :( im bummed I cant have it on dvd :(

i know right? although all my other hanson stuff is copying nicely :) love that i cant watch old school hanson on dvds now :)

I want to get Honestech VHS to DVD well see what my dad says about it. My Hanson VHS tapes still looks good. Like the color still looks bright. So I hope my dad says yes we can get it!!! Cause it can also copy video files & i want to get some of the stuff people have put of Hanson on youtube on a DvD! I don't have alot of them lol.
