The reason im getting defensive is because you assumed that i just made a heartless comment about the game, thinking that i don't care about the soldiers fighting over there.

Of course i care about people losing there lives, soldiers and local civilians but in the end it is JUST a GAME. And by the looks of the trailer it is a very realistic game.

By the way, i have had weapons pointed in my direction, i have been in vehicles when an IED has gone off, i have had RPGs fired on my location and i have had loved ones injured and killed.

Well...I hope deep inside you really do care about it. And as far as you are telling me...I will believe what you are saying.

But then again, by the sound of that...you must have not been involved in this operation...I can only assume.

Or if you were...then was it even on our side? I mean? ...You know? Just makes me curious!

I would hate to discriminate against anyone which I DONT, I discriminate against criminals. But I respected the armed force of EVERY country...regardless of who they are.

We've had MAJOR assistance of Iraq Forces while over there in order to combat terrorism. Therefore...It wouldn't bother ME at all if they were portrayed maybe as an opposing force for gameplay purposes.

See the difference?

I am however, very very very sorry for your loss. And happy that you are still alive and well. Or so I hope. Cause apprently as you also know...not many of us were lucky.

It's just a game for some...but a serious offense to most.

I really don't see the problem with the game, i will be buying it. People shouldn't take things to seriously. Being a soldier is just a job, we know the consequences when we sign up, i hate how people think soldiers are hero's when we are JUST doing our JOBS.

I will be leaving this conversation now.

I personally don't think any real life wars (at least current/ recent) has a place in a game. No matter how the forces are portrayed or which forces are playable.

I just don't see how it's ok to take events that are far from a game to some people and turn it into "just a game".

Yes, I'm an avid gamer, but I stay clear of games like this that just seem to trivialize real life events.

Thank you so much.

My take on it exactly.

And yes...soldiers are heroes. Every day heroes who are on the line every single day giving their lives on their jobs...just like policeman, just like firefighters...and any other task force that is there to SERVE and PROTECT!

Any real military man and woman knows that it is more than just a job...it's a way of life. And if someone who thinks this is just a job signed up for it, ...they shouldn't even BE in any military. That shows that their understanding of CORPS values...has completely bypassed their heads and it's purpose was defeated when they were being trained.

Any soldier, airborne, marine and sea man that knows and understands their role in the military task forces...known they are putting their lives on the line and do NOT expect to be recognized as heroes...EVER...but guess what? They are.

So I will leave it at that for now.

I agree, to me soldiers are heroes (they are not the only heroes in society, of course, but they are among them). Just the fact that they are out there fighting battles and/or protecting people on the front line, where I wouldn't want to be, is enough for me to think of them as such.

I'm not from the US either so I don't find it distasteful because they are my troops, I just think that there should be some seperation between actual life events and games. So yeah, I would still think this game was a bad idea even if only the US troops were playable. I don't necessarily believe that just because I agree with one side over the other, that that side deserves to be portrayed as the good side. I also think that a game that portrays the Taliban as the bad guys is bound to make the situation worse.

Though I personally play games to take a break from the real world, so I don't even see the point in a game that's based on stuff I see on the news, so maybe I'm not the right person to comment on this. :P

And I love EA games and have played many of their titles, so this really made me sad...

Yeah you are right...anyone with an opinion is right to comment! :)

I just believed that ...if you wanna make a war game...take a hint from other games and do something that ...has never happened before...or is not likely to ya know? ...Find opposing forces that are not on...an ongoing battle!

It is fun to play those games...but it's just not fun to endorse that kind of thing...pressing on ongoing issues.

If they had a war between Brazil and Africa...lol...with forces that are not TRUE to the existing forces of either country...that wouldn't bother ANYONE because #1 that is an unlikely war... # 2 it's not portraying anyone in particular nor is it offending them!

Anyways hehe..:)

I completely 100% agree with you. I seriously dont think that they should have done that. I'm really not a gamer, either. But its wrong.
