Ok girls and boys...this is literally baffling. If any of you have recently read about EA Games's decision of portraying Taliban characters to play against US soldiers on their new Medal of Honor game...You should definitely READ this!

Here's the advisor...the content on the blog is not PG I mean, it's heartfelt with some cuss words. So read at your own risk.

I wont post the direct LINK because the link itself has some cuss words HOWEVER here is the address to the blog.

Click on the post that says "EA Games..."

I am not a gamer but I read it and totally agree with you. How can EA sit there and design a game like this when we have people out there fighting for freedom as we speak. They might say it's 18+ but that doesn't meant that those under 18 are not going to play it and think it is okay. I can't really say much because I don't play games nor have I ever served for my country but I think it's disgusting that it's even an option that you can play a Taliban

That to me just seems downright disrespectful to create a game where you can literally destroy the troops of your country playing as a particularly touchy-subject enemy representing a war that STILL has troops out of the country! My brother just joined the Air Force, why would I want to shoot him down?

I agree. This is very disturbing. It is beyond me how ANYONE could do this with a good conscience. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

Exactly! Agreed with all of you...It is just beyond me how they would think that ...this is such a good "creative...risky" decision that was gonna bring them popularity and more $$$!

If anything I can guarantee to you, the market they are aiming for...is definitely NOT the american players for the most part.

So what exactly is the market they are aiming for or so they claim on their news conferences?...Taliban militants? Terrorists? is that the market?

Here's the trailer for the game

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czDu97cMSIY

Funny how for the most part so the game sells they are portraying the AMERICAN soldiers and Marines...then in the end they have in the SHADY DARK ...Taliban Militants. Because they are not soldiers...mind you...most of the ones who kill our people are militants...from militias and partitions like the TALIBAN!

Wow...after watching this you tell me what you think when they show TWICE ppl dressed as the "bad guys" shooting at US troops!

It doesn't just look mean...it IS mean. if you consider the context.

It is just a game...like many others, ...but then again...at least other companies have some sense knocked into their brains to not touch an ongoing political battle for their themes. And disrespectfully hurt people like myself and many others.

So I appreciate your comment...and also the disregard for people like me.

At least we know that some people are still against us and would clearly prefer to be in front ofour troops instead of behind them.

But hey you are sure entitled to your opinion...spend your money however you want right? you earned it.

no hard feelings though.

Of course...you're from New Zealand...how would YOU understand what we've been through though!

I wouldn't expect you to...but then again if your country was battling another and you had allies and your family members were part of that war and were out there getting shot...would you want a game to give others the option to be the guys who are shooting your family members...people who aren't even SOLDIERS but...militia members and terrorists...shooting your troops and allies in the head and stuff?

Ya know? just think about it.

I'm from NZ, SO WHAT???? The US isn't the only county with troops over in Afghan. Many countries have lost soldiers in the war against terrorism.

So what? Is that you don't personally know what it feels like when a RIFLE is pointed at your head ...! That's basically what it is.

I am not talking about Afghanistan...I am talking IRAQ! Where only USA and UK troops are.

There are no New Zealand soldiers out there sweetheart. Trust me...I know THAT part.

And basically until someone in your family is shot in the head by a terrorist...I don't think you will ever understand that on a personal level. Which is NOT expected by me or any Americans who are fighting this war and losing their loved ones.

But that's ok...there will be many like you who do not fathom the issue on a direct level...and will still buy it...and support the nonsense. But can you blame any of those people? Not really! They are just uninformed...or just don't really care cause...it's not hitting home for them.

But it's ok...don't worry. The ones like ME, who've lost friends...whose friends were blown up by bombs...got shot...will forgive you and others who think that..it's just OKAY to dress up as a terrorist.

As I said...I don't wanna make this a personal "fight" or "argument" there are better places to discuss his type of thing...and HNET is not it.

I posted the initial article for people who actually give a care in the world about our troops.

Medal of Honor is an upcoming first-person shooter video game in the Medal of Honor series, developed by Danger Close[5], a new studio within EA Los Angeles, and DICE[6], due for release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 October 12, 2010.[7][8] The game will be a reboot of the series, taking place during the ongoing War in Afghanistan. Medal of Honor's single-player campaign will use a heavily modified version of Unreal Engine 3, and its multiplayer will use the Frostbite engine.[9] This game is expected to utilize dedicated servers as hinted by Sean Decker, General Manager at EA, in Atomic PC's feature article.[10

As far as my military knowledge goes...you see....I'm a MARINE...the operation name...HAS NEVER changed. Since it's beginning...when WE the Marines were sent out first to Iraq...the operation is called

IRAQI FREEDOM...troops have ceased WORK in Iraq this past week , however...the operation continues in Afghanistan...which means it is STILL called Iraqi Freedom...makes sense?

it's based on the operation itself...who CARES where they are playing? There is TALIBAN terrorists available for you to play with.

I'm sure Taliban is thrilled about THAT Media Exposure...if THAT does not boost their terroristic EGO...what would eh?
