ah... I really don't care about posts like this anymore... what's the point of this one, anyway? As someone already commented it's not a popularity contest, at least not for Hanson. For some artists it might be, but not for them. They would be making music even without a single record sold.

We know Hanson can't be reduced to their records sales, there are lots of other important things. I think SIO is doing pretty well, others might disagree or even prove me wrong with some numbers...so what? I'm glad Hanson focuses on other things as well not only record sales otherwise it probably wouldn't be such fun to be a Hansonfan.

I swear it is like people love to hate on them. First off, who cares how many albums they sale? (Yes, that is part of being in the music industry, but come on!) Like Olli said, they would still make music even if they sold 5 albums or 5 million. You can for sure tell they are NOT in this for the money. A lot of artist doesn't sale too many albums now days, no one hardly buys ANYONES. I am proud to say that I have bought all Hanson's CD's in hard copy format, and I am sure I am not alone in this. Every concert they have is packed, most of their mech on here is sold out. So they may not sell as many records now as they did then, but they do still make money, and they do still have a STRONG fan base, and they do still make amazing music. That is a lot more than I can say for some artist out there today.

I stopped commenting on "articles" like this a long time ago. At the end of the day, we will probably never be able to change the opinions of people who love to hate on Hanson, and the opinions of people who don't even understand the basics of the music industry hardly matters that much anyway.

Either way, "being in the sun" in todays music business more or less equals selling out, so I think not being the latest big thing is something to be proud of. :)

I thought I was the only one who still bought CD's anyway, I thought everyone was going MP3. Dose anyone know how many people have downloaded SIO on Itunes and the like?

Absolutely right. Isn’t about how many albums they sold like what we are talking of the last day with my hanson buddies. I’m still happy ‘coz the brothers keep on playing their own music and they still work so hard. You guys are totally luckily you live there, I mean you’re a part of USA, not too easy to catch up them :D

Thanks Olli, Kathryn, writemeadream and guyhanson fan.

Well duh Hanson doesn’t sell TONS of records. They are completely independent, and don’t have a label pushing them to make music that ins’t them and promote the album in ways they don’t want to. They do what they want, and have probably the most pleased fan base ever. They interact with their fans like no other, and make TREMENDOUS music. Check out their new album, I think you’ll find that it’s pretty darn substantial.

I think we are still trying to find out for sure if SoundScan includes iTunes sales or not.  I was under the impression it did, but now I'm not so sure.

I think half the reason this guy even wrote this article is to bug the hanson fans, since everyone got after him for his first mention of them i think he just wanted to be true to his douchebag ways and get everyone fired up again. Whether or not the numbers in the article are true or not doesn't really have anything to do with why the guy wrote this article.

Yeah!. They sell tons of albums. But anyone doesn’t know that some of us, some of the fans are buying CD’s DVD’s to this site. Like us (fans from PH) we’re buying CD’s and apparel through this site, isn’t easy for us to buy, so many process to do before we get it. But we will do our best just to buy SIO and have it.

I think they just quoted the 1st week sales.  That doesn't take sales after the 1st week into consideration.

They sold around 14-15,000 1st week, so the rest is since, and its about right since it lasted just 2 weeks on Billboard. I think it includes digital sales such as iTunes too. Hanson.net sales might be included in the total.

I think, it will sell better than The Walk did in the end, but 31,000 is not that much considering the album has had tons more promo and publicity than The Walk did.

What is this guy trying to prove? Because we all attacked him, he had to go do his research and find something that would p our o. He's so annoying, I can't read anything else from him. He's jealous that he has no fans of his work so he has to bash anyone that has real fans of their own.

I do not know too to him. Well, we all know that the “BAND” and “BROTHERS” have been successful ever, right! It’s so annoying it’s making my mood on bad. But I know to myself, Hanson is the best!
I think he’s definitely jealous, hehe Laughing
