do any of you have seasonal depression? i do, when it turns to spring i get nervous and very depressed. i hate sun and hot weather, it drives me insane and i force myself to stay indoors if its over 70 degrees.i hate warm weather and i love cold weather. the winter is peaceful and calm and i can be a better person in the winter and think better. in the spring and summer i have to deal and start to not be able to focus or concentrate on something or think straight. i become a mess in the spring. i cant focus on any thoughts and im walking around like a grump old man in the summer. i think its time for me to buy a summer home in alaska/northern canada/the north pole/siberia. where is it snowy in the spring and summer ive had some recent all year round depression but its worse in the spring and summer, alot worse |

I'm the same, minus liking the cold. I hate being cold, and if I get too hot I get sick. I have to stay out of the sun. I get heat rash if I get too hot running around at work! I also hate thunderstorms and stuff. I prefer a winter storm any day. Minneapolis - 8/03 ~ La Crosse - 4/08 |

My only problem is the winter. I love hot weather, sun...and when it's winter I feel kinda depressed because most of the days is cloudy, rainy and somehow dark. But I love all the other seasons, now we are about to turn to fall. I love it. Sun and wind together. :) ________________________________ Fernanda Sao Paulo/Brazil - November 10th, 2000 / March 10th, 2005 / November 6th, 2011. |

my dream vacation would be to go to a log cabin in a snowy outdoor type area where i can have hot cocoa and got sledding and walk and build things in the snow. i love to see the northern lights and snow is beautiful especially at night when lights shines on it its a magical season. i would hate to win a trip to a hot or humid island tropical beach resort with palm trees. most people go in vacations to the beach to be in hot weather and i would hate that. its funny because most people i know prefer warm weather and beach type of places. im the opposite. where is it snowy in the spring and summer? im of russian heritage ,so maybe it has to do with that. even tho i was born in america , maybe because my ancestors lived in the cold and snowy places in europe and russia. but that dosnt make sense because the rest of my family who was born in america likes warm weather and beaches better than snow i found out something that explains why people have seasonal depression. there is a study that says the sun, especially during spring and summer when its very sunny out adds extra seratonin to peoples brains during the spring and summer. for me that probably causes too much or something. i dont know. maybe people with warm weather depression already have a large amount of seratonin and when they get more from the sun or sunny weather it goes overboard and makes them depressed, does the opposite of what its said. warm weather also makes people have fatigue, less energy. meaning more laziness and less ability to think clear or problem solve. thats probably why there is no school during the summer and people are lazy and sit on lawn chairs and stare into space like happy idiots |

I love summer time and exercising outdoors. I don't mind winter when it is sunny, because I like to snowboard but I dislike deary winter days without any sun. Those days I'd rather just cuddle up in bed with a good book or movie. @lreganb--> you know you wanna follow me. eighteen shows. seven states. two countries next up: montreal & albany |

You'll have darkness from 4pm til 9 am am if you visit in november/December. Now we have darkness from 7pm til 7am or so. We do have warm summers though. I don't like summer either - in a way I like the light but I hate direct sunshine and heat, and I start to feel anguished and tired, uninspired too. But I can't say I would suffer from depression because of that. But I can undeerstand why it makes some people feel depressed. 5 of 5 London - the best live music experience ever Thanks for Cologne and Amsterdam on SIO World Tour! |

I don't get seasonal depression, I just don't like summer. My only cons in regards to spring are bees. I have a fear of them so it's understandable. I only don't like summer because of how annoyingly hot it can be. I don't ind the sun shining, I'm just not a fan of sweat and stickiness and moving around and feeling like you're going to pass out. I don't like the feeling of dehydration even though I'm clearly hydrated. And, I don't like the clutter they call children at the pools.
I deal though, life has to continue on and I'm not about to miss any of it because of what the temperature is outside. I just prefer cold and snuggling in your coat and gloves and hat, it's fun. I also love the snow... which is what's going on outside RIGHT NOW! |

QUOTE: baloonclown3lucky duck mystry girl. i want snow ill have to wait till next year late fall for that I waited most of my life for snow. I come from a sunny and 70 all year round state so snow is like Disneyland to me. It's been doing it light and heavy all day and we're expected to get more tomorrow. It's winters last hurrah in spring..haha
However, last winter we got one snowstorm and it came right around this time. The entire winter was just cold, no snow. So this is pretty nice, 3 storms in one season, it was awesome. |

I used to get sick in every season. Actually, I used to get sick like 5 times a year. That's WAY too much time being ill. Since I've been here, I've been sick once and it wasn't like anything serious either, I caught a stomach virus from a co-worker and was out for a whopping ONE day. |

I feel just like you about the hot weather and sunlight. I even joined this site for people with Summer S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder). Maybe I'll see you on there soon.
