Bored and procrastinating so...TOP FIVE ALBUMS

ally1009 ally1009 2010-03-11 23:07:03 -0600

I'm not saying these are the best albums of all time, just that these are the ones that have shown up at various points in my life just when I needed them.  So they mean something to me personally.

Ordered by release date:

1. Fly - Dixie Chicks (1999)

2. Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay (2002)

3. Underneath - Hanson (2004)

4. Continuum - John Mayer (2006)

5. Free - Gavin DeGraw (2009)

Feel free to share the most important albums in your life :)

If we're talking albums that showed up exactly when I needed them, then I'll have to say:

August and Everything After by Counting Crows

Hello, Good Friend by The Rocket Summer

Found by Honor By August

I guess those three are the only three that really come to mind.

I'm excluding Hanson albums from this list because they are obvious (and Middle of Nowhere would receive the #1 Most Influential Album).  Also, these aren't in any particular order.

Joshua Tree by U2

Full Moon Fever by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

Late Night Grande Hotel by Nanci Griffith

Rubber Soul by The Beatles

Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We by The Cranberries

Under the Table and Dreaming by Dave Matthews Band

sorry, I know that's 6...Wink

it's funny because these are the albums I would choose, but if it were songs specifically it would probably look pretty different!  (Although "With Or Without You" would most definitely make it!)

"Music washes away from the soul the dust of every day life."

umm,

I'd have to say all my Hanson albums just cause that what I mostly listen to if something bad happens in my life cause they always cheer me up.

"The first music that you really fall in love with is more than just music." Taylor says, "Its something that clicks in you, beyond the song, it's a message or image that causes you to jump in and not let go."-(Taylor Hanson)

This is NOT an easy task. I've come to this thread a million times in an attempt to list MY top 5 albums. I think I may actually have it this time.

1. George Harrison- Brainwashed

2. Simon & Garfunkel- Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme

3. Mike Oldfield- Tubular Bells

4. The Beatles- Rubber Soul

5. George Harrison- All Things Must Pass

I had a VERY hard time choosing between All Things Must Pass and Cloud Nine because I love both of those albums equally. In fact, I think I love all of George Harrisons albums equally. Tough list.
