true, thats good that he gave money and stopped to talk to the homeless guy. theres alot of self centered people out there who would have ignored the homeless person or walked away.

but for me its a responsibility if you have what to give. i always stop and give to the homeless whenever i see an opportunity and if i feel safe enough to walk up to them. even if its only a few dollars i see that they need money.i see it as morally correct if a homeless is asking for money or looks like they need help, to give them atleast enough money to buy a meal, if i have extra money with me. i dont have to stop and give money, but i do because thats who i am. and dont like to see people in trouble.

of course in these times alot of non homeless people barely have enough money to spend on themselves, so if you dont have money to give thats fine, but if you do then you can give money. i remember countless times even when i was a young kid, think 8 , 10, 12 yrs old and id see a homeless person and beg my parents to stop and give them 5 or 10 dollars. i even gave out of my own allowance once when i was around 12 lol.

im probably a different breed of people tho, so im speaking for myself.

My favorite place homeless people to give money to is the children on the streets of Mexico. I'm not mexican, by the way. I just happen to visit there sometimes. There's nothing quite like giving something to a child with nothing and watching their eye light up like you've just given them the world.

I've never been to africa. Can't afford the plane tickets, but I'm sure I'd love to help them out just as much.

I love selfless people, and that's why I love Hanson. Tay, thanks for reconfirming my point once more. Wink

You see three little boys, with long hair, that wrote a song about a made-up word over 10 years ago. I see three grown men that took the lemons life gave them and made it into lemonade. Than sold that lemonade and used the money to feed, clothe, educate, and provide medical care to children living in poverty. Laughing

its at the very end of the video.. they finish singing and then a guy with a sign says something.. then it cuts off, so i was curious what that was about and from what people say, the guy was homeless and Tay gave him some money and a hug.. but the video doesnt show that part.

While that is true is some cases there are many cases where they are not faking it. I don't agree that standing on the street begging for money is the best thing to do, but some people are so desperate that they don't know what else to do.

I talked to the homeless man before the video shoot was over and also afterward.  He was bawling his eyes out saying how is wife had divorced him, took his kids from him, and how he used to have a good job and a stable income.  He now lives under the bridge in downtown Tulsa in a tent.  He hugged me several times and I really felt his pain. I gave him what I could and just wished I could have done more.

Taylor also let him cover over to their tented area and let him eat whatever he wanted! It was SO touching! After that, he came back up to Taylor and Isaac and handed him the sign he had. He had it turned over to the other side he hadn't written on so I only assume he wrote them a note or something. I then heard Taylor say, "God bless you, man. You'll figure it out". I definitely got a tear in my eye. It was SO touching!!

that is the sweetest thing ive ever heard! poor guy im all teary. its nice that tay did something extra rather than just give him money.

i totally get what people are saying, when i was younger my mum always told me not to give homeless people anything because they were just trying to get money for drugs. i think thats really bad, you dont know that, maybe they are but probaby they really need it. i honestly dont think begging is the best way to get drug money, im sure they would be out robbing houses or whatever instead. But yeah...i always felt so guilty walking past them and not giving them anything. i saw this guy one time in the city in winter, lying in a doorway covered in newspaper pages. he didnt even have a blanket. i dont know how people get into these situations but i feel so awful for them. i always think, whats a few bucks gonna do for them, but what tay did is so much better, talking and listening and giving the guy some hope. i hope things turn out ok for him

I was always told instead of giving the homeless money, go buy them the food or the blanket or whatever you think they need and then give it to them, so that you KNOW they are getting what they really need to have, and not something to abuse. This way we KNOW they are eating and that they are covered and whatnot, rather than giving them money and having them blow it on alcohol (not all of them would, by any means...but I do know alcoholism runs very high in the homeless population.)

you are right in most cases I would agree with you but I think Taylor did what he thought he could in the moment and then I hear that he let the man eat at the tent as well lol im not sure why or how this has become a major dissucssion, it was just a nice gesture and i think everyone agrees with that fact

I think it is super sweet that the little girl was getting their autograph and they're getting ready to sing, so she's kind of in the way, but they are not mean to her and they continue to sign her paper.
