I see a similarity, I mean he's not dead on.. but I can see a circa 2000 Taylor in some of the vid.

Call me crazy, but I think this actor (Michael Graziadei) kinda  looks like Taylor as well:  http://www.imdb.com/media/rm441750528/nm1616668

I heard a reporter interview or somthing somewhere and they were saying it is going to be alot more up beat. on this record they are letting loose and having more fun..less serious ...and that they were going to have more songs like "get up and go" and "lost with out each other."....I am soo excited!!

...Awesome!!  Get Up and Go , and Lost Without Each Other  were my absolute favorites off of Underneath ! Laughing

...So I just came across this online blog article called "Chart Watch Extra: The Year That Songs Overtook Albums" http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart_watch/25945/chart-watch-extra-the-year-that-songs-overtook-albums/   The Jonas brothers were on the list, and again another Hanson comparison was thrown in:

" 11. Jonas Brothers, A Little Bit Longer, 1,410,000. Jonas Brothers were the opening act on Miley Cyrus' "Best of Both Worlds" tour, but they finish a few spots ahead of her on the year-end chart. Cyrus' Breakout is #14 for 2008. (JoBros have more in common with Hanson, which had the #5 album of 1997 with Middle Of Nowhere.)...... "

That's a good idea, since I've only been a hanson.net member for 3 yrs. (2004, & 2007-08).  I missed the year they released "Never Let Go" Frown  Also, I was never a MOE member, so I'm not sure what music if any they released through that..

Woah, woah, woah guys!  This is blowing up into something that totally doesn't need to be!

I think we can all agree that Hanson deserves more recognition than they've been getting the last couple of albums.  My earlier comment was something to the effect that: they've got some great tunes that so far have only been available to just the fan club members.  I'm not complaining that I have to pay for a fanclub membership.. I was just saying that some of their material really deserves to be on a CD available for general sale.  I don't see what the difference is- people still pay money for it, whether it's for fan club or if someone picks it up off a shelf at Wal-Mart..... It's just that people who have the potential of being new fans would more likely pay for a CD there, than come on here and buy a membership.

Anyway, I'm not trying to further the argument- I'm just trying to clarify my earlier comment in case it was misunderstood..

I feel like a bad fan, but like someone else said, there are a whole handful of songs on "Underneath" that do nothing for me. They are "Strong Enough to Break," "Dancin' in the Wind," "When You're Gone" and "Hey." I really dislike "When You're Gone" - I skip over it all the time. And I feel extra guilty for not liking SETB considering it is so important to the guys and most fans love it.

You can't force yourself to like a song, but for me "Penny and Me" is one of the stronger songs on the album. It is great to sing along to. Imagine trying to sing along to "When You're Gone" - it's just not the same! Penny and Me is one of the only songs on that album that is "single-worthy" and by that I just mean it is appropriate for the radio. It is probably the most mainstream-sounding song on there. Maybe that's why you dislike it.

For what it's worth, I have always thought SETB has no tune, it's just too repetitive.

I admit that I don't like certain songs of the guys- such as the ones you mentioned above.. However I don't think that makes me (or anyone else) a bad fan.  It's just all a matter of a personal taste.

I wish the guys would officially release some of the songs that have been included in hanson.net membership kits in the past!  Some of my favorite tunes of theirs have gone unreleased to the general public.

For their next album, they should let us (their fans) decide which songs should make the final cut...  Come up with a list of their 20-25 favorites, post 1 minute samples of each, and have all the registered fans (including non-paying ones) vote on their favorites!

BlueDolphin84 - Why have you not seen them in concert yet??!!

It's quite pitiful isn't it?! *lol*  ..Especially since I live in the US!

Well, in '97 I was living in upper MI..  When they started the Albertane tour I didn't know they were coming to Seattle the summer I came out to the Pacific Northwest on vacation- so I missed that chance.  I don't think they came to Seattle during 2000 (by then I was living in the Pacific Northwest).  Regardless, that was a bad year for me, and my circumstances wouldn't have let me go anyway .  They came 'round again in 2003, but at that time I had to take care of my grandma.  This year, between the high gas prices ($4-$5 a gallon), and my full time job of taking care of my disabled mother and grandmother- I just couldn't go.  (Btw, Seattle is the closest venue for me.. and it's about 700 miles round trip.)

i first heard "MMMBOP" in probably June of 98. I was actually watching MTV I think it was and this video came on and I kid you not, I thought it was 2 girls and a guy at first. I know I know, stupid idiot. Anyway, I immediately fell in love with the song. It got me dancin' right away. I know dorky. Anyway, so a few days later I was on watching MTV and the tour dates for their Road to Albertane Tour were being announced and I saw Nashville listed. I jumped at the chance and had my dad order tickets to take me to the concert. It was August 6th 1998. It was my first concert EVER. I remember where my seats were to this day! Section 6 seats 5 and 6 and Starwood Amphitheatre. I remember the curtain falling and seeing Zac and just going completely nuts.lol. The girl next to me thought I was a nutcase, but we talked anyway and exchanged numbers because she lived nearby and was in a wheelchair like myself, so we wanted to keep in touch. I can honestly say that Hanson is the reason I met my best friend. We did stop talking for a couple years, but we met back up at the concert here in October and we're talking again. So again, they brought us together. I've been to every tour they've done so far, because thank God they never skip Nashville. And I plan to be a fan for a LONG time to come. I love their music and what they stand for.

..It's okay Sarah, when I first saw the video for "MMMBop" I thought that one of the guys was a girl; then my brain kicked in a minute later and figured it out *lol*  Tongue outAnyway, that was back in May/June of '97- and I've been a fan ever since (despite the fact that my school mates/friends/family gave me crap for it)!

..Oh yeah, and after 11 1/2 yrs of being a fan, I still have yet to see them live/in concert Embarassed

... Just a little off topic here, but when Hanson first came out- did they get constant comparisons to the Bee Gees?

Personally, aside from them being a band of 3 brothers- I don't see any other connection between Hanson and the JB's.  Their music is very different, their career choices are different, etc.  But whatever I guess... at least Hanson's name is mentioned!

....What?!?!  Where's Elvis, the Beatles, and dare I say it... the Spice Girls *lol*?!?  This list is bogus!  Plus, Hanson at 14 is an insult!  (Hanson fans didn't make it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the loudest screams for nothing! Tongue out)  Who is Lulu? ...And Tanya Tucker as a "teen idol" *ROFL*!  And why didn't this person just add the Jackson 5, the Monkees, and the Osmonds? .. they all deserve recognition instead of just the one person.

Anyway, Elvis should have been #1, the Beatles #2, and Hanson somewhere in the top 10!

Yeah totally, I was a little nervous because when it takes that long for a second album to come out, it just never seems like it's good.  But it looks like they just really took their time to put together a super solid album.  I'd hate to see them end up in the pop machine like Maroon 5 did for their second album.

I did see them live back in 2006 as well, they were awesome.  They are doing an east coast club tour in January that I'd like to go to.  It would be cool to see them in a smaller setting before they get huge again.

Glad you like the song!

...I'm sure they'll be heading to CA. on this tour, but I get where you're coming from- smaller venue's are best.  I saw them in a "smaller" venue (about 1,500 capacity), and even though I was on the balcony, it was still an intimate atmosphere.  Joe (and possibly Isaac) has family in the city where I saw them; so I'm sure they'll be stopping by on their tour.  Last year they didn't come- they had a date up, but it got switched to UT.  They did come at least once in 2005, and 3 times in 2006!

What Isaac said in the beginning of the vid ("this is going to be a defining record for us... this is what we feel we would have done differently from the first record if we had more time"), makes me hopeful that it'll be good!  ..It's sad to see/hear potentially good artists put out mediocre albums (Gavin DeGraw comes to mind).

Speaking of 2nd albums, your profile said you're a James Morrison fan.  Isn't his new album great?!  (..That's what Gavin's album should have been!  Don't get me wrong- he's a good singer, but I'm disappointed with his second album.  I thought it would be better than it was, since it took him 3-4 years to release.)

Casey, thank you for the heads up!  I get their newsletters emailed to me, so I knew about their album coming out soon.  However, I hadn't yet heard the new single.  ...I just listened to it, and I'm very impressed!  Their new album has been a long time coming, but it sounds as if it was worth the wait Smile

I can't wait until they come back here on tour!  Have you ever seen them live?  ..I was able to see them in 2006, and they were amazing!!

...I heard two of their songs featured on One Tree Hill  last night ("Don't Say" & "Unless")  Has anybody ever heard of them before?   http://www.myspace.com/stlolainthefields

They have an EP out right now called "Little Breaks/Little Bends" with 6 songs on it ("Unless" isn't on there, but you can hear it on their MySpace player).  Here's the link to buy it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Little-Breaks-Bends-EP/dp/B001D4Y0MQ/ref=sr_f3_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1227060986&sr=103-1

Anyway, if you like artists like A Fine Frenzy, Anna Nalick, Marie' Digby, etc.- you'll probably be interested in checking this duo out.  (My fav's on the EP are: Don't Say, Sunny, & Fix)

The one that I probably listened to most was "I Will Come To You"..

But I also really liked "Weird", "Thinking Of You", "Madeline", "Minute Without You", and of course "MmmBop"..

Trisha, that's so cool that you can fly to see them in another country!

However, there are other fans like myself that either have family or financial responsibilities (or both), that prevent them.  Anyway, let's just hope they don't wait another 4 or 5 yrs. before returning to certain venues! Laughing

Vitamins!!! Echinacea and Vitamin C will boost your immune systed to at least try and get you a jumpstart!

As for Vitamin C, I always get the EmergenC  fizzy flavored powder that you just add to 6 oz. of water.  I've tried many of the flavors, but I seem to like the Lemon Lime the best.  You can find it just about anywhere, including Walmart!

Also, we discovered the power of oregano a few years back... We only buy the stuff from North American Herb & Spice Company.  Their "P-73" formula is even said (and researched) to kill the bird/avian flu virus!  ( http://www.p-73.com/Research.htm )  I personally know how great it is in fighting the flu!  It also has anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties!

Here's their website: http://www.p-73.com/oreganolp73.htm

I don't think they sell any products on their site.  The products are usually available at any health food store.  We personally like the oil the best; but we've also tried the capsules, and steam distilled juice.  If you get the oil, but discover you don't enjoy the taste- you can always buy empty gelatin caps, and just fill it up with the dropper inside.  Also, if you intend on buying the oil, it can be a bit pricey for 1 oz. (regular strength is between $40-47, and super strength is up to $60)..  If you can't afford that, you can get 1/2 oz. ($25-30), and travel size ($14-19.99).  We usually end up buying it whole-sale which is a better deal.

Currently, My Natural Market online has a bunch of NAH&S products on sale: http://www.mynaturalmarket.com/na-herb-spice.html

I suppose you can benefit from the fresh herb itself.  ...My dad has a crop of it in his garden; and just chewed on a bunch when he thought he was getting the flu last week.

Besides that, good ol' plain garlic (or garlic in capsules/tabs) works great as well!

Okay, I've been a Hanson fan since I was....12. I'm 23. That's 11 years. I have been to TWO concerts of theirs. Both the greatest ever. At the end of the last concert this summer, Taylor said "blah blah you're awesome...we'll definitely be back." Okay, so, they're NOT coming back. I am SO very sad. I was hoping they'd add concert dates to the end of the tour like usual, but sadly, they probably won't seeing as the tour ends as the holidays begin. Not that I can blame them. But still...

Holly, I feel your pain!  I've also been a fan for 11 years, and haven't seen them even ONCE!  ..It just so happens that Seattle is my closest venue- so my chances of seeing them are very slim Frown

So, has anyone heard of singer James Morrison (from UK)?  http://www.myspace.com/jamesmorrisonmusic , http://www.jamesmorrisonmusic.com/

His musical sound is soul/alternative/rock (much like Gavin DeGraw).  Actually, I think he was Gavin's opening act in the last year.

His first album "Undiscovered" came out in early 2007.  I believe "Undiscovered", "Wonderful World", and "You Give Me Something" were all singles off the album.

His 2nd album "Songs For You, Truths For Me" just came out a few days back.

I couldn't wait to purchase it in the store, so I ended up downloading the album off Amazon MP3 for $8.99. ..In my opinion this album is just as good, or possibly even better than his first!  I'm trying to pick out my favorites, but I'm having a tough time!  But I'll try to narrow it down to a few..

- 2. Save Yourself

- 3. You Make It Real *my favorite*

- 4. Please Don't Stop The Rain

- 5. Broken Strings (duet with Nelly Furtado)

- 8. Precious Love

- 9. If You Don't Wanna Love Me

Anyway, I highly recommend checking him out if you haven't yet! Smile
