Sprry that my reply is one long paragrah. Apparently, the enter button on this laptop does not work with this site. Also, I'd like to say that while I was probably the only one at Massanetta who did not know Hanson before that night, I'm probably the only person who still knows the MMMBop energizer.

It was Thursday, June 19, 1997, just five days before my 14th birthday. I was at a Presbyterian conference, the Massanetta Springs Middle School Conference, in Harrisonburg, VA. It was the first night of the conference, and after meeting the group I'd be spending my time that weekend with, we went to The Nook for mixers. The Enablers (Counselors) taught us energizers (dances they came up with to popular music). One in particular they taught us had to do with the most popular movie of the summer (Jurassic Park 2) and the most popular song of the summer (MMMBop). Well, it seemed as though everyone at the conference loved Hanson and the song, but I hadn't heard it yet. I did the energizer, though, and I did it throughout the entire conference. I didn't know the song, but I knew the dance moves. There was even a middler that everyone called "Hanson" because he resembled Zac. For my birthday, I got some money. A few days later, my family went on vacation mto Trenton, NJ. At a music store called The Wall as a mall where sections were named after colors, I bought a copy of MON because I wanted MMMBop to be able to do the dance. The rest, as they say, is history. Every single time the opportunity presents itself, I do the MMMBop dance, including at concerts. I've gotten many a weird looks from people for the dance, including Ash G, Taylor, Zac, Isaac, and Leigh (she even has/had a copy of my dance on video). I guess it's something I'm kind of known for, in a way.

Apparently the looks the guys have given me during my dances during "MMMBop" and "Hey" would be enough to embarass me, but I was having too much fun dancing so I never noticed their looks, haha. Then there's talking about typing and spelling terrible with Zac. Those were good times.

Even if the person was an amazing singer, I don't think MMMBop would be the best song choice. It doesn't really let a person showcase what they can do with their vocal ability.

I think it was for the "This Time Around" video that he just played a piece of wood and they edited it to look like a piano.

Like a couple have said, I'm sure it's down to memory for him, even if he is just playing a piece of wood, like in the instance of the TTA video. He (along with Isaac and Zac) play their songs so often that they are memorized, and even when playing on a piece of wood I'm sure he knows where he would position hishands on thepiano to play the correct chords.

I think some peopl ehave and some people haven't. It seems like it depends on the person hosting the walk and their level of comfort doing so.

In order to score a touchdown, you must have possession of the football.

What a great Christmas present. It's a gift that keeps on giving. Congratulations to Taylor and Natalie and family, and also their extended family. What an epic Christmas this will be for them. Three first Christmases for them, as someone already pinted out. How exciting! :)

I'm with Emma (EmmaLou)! I'd love to be able to folloow them around on a world tour with my touring friends! OR They have a super cool concert with all their opening acts that I love: Michelle Branch, Michael Tolcher, Ingram Hill, Pat McGee, Honor By August, SK6ers, The Veronicas, Dave Barnes, Everybody Else. That would pretty much be the best concert EVER! OR own the notebooks they write their songs in. I feel like that would be the coolest piece of Hanson memorabilia to own -- even moreso than MBoomerang and MMMBop. You'd get to see how the songs come together and see lyrics of unreleased songs. It would be so cool to even be able to glimpse through them, let alone actually possess and own them.

Haha that's kind of funny. Though it's not as "severe" as Kramer with the ribbon, I could imagine people on Hanson's walks being like "Why are you wearing shoes? No one here is wearing shoes! Why aren't you walking barefoot? You're supposed to walk barefoot!..."

The guy behind Pat McGee is Stephen Kellogg, and the guy on the opposite end is Keaton Simons. The guy behind Taylor and Zac is Chris Cligh, he was on a season of American Idol.

I think you're referring to the one that has a fan fic, recipe, or graphic for each day of December?

I have no idea where it is. I loved it a few years ago, though.

Haha, at first I was like "Why would you bash 7 Zac posters?! What did they do to you? Give you a paper cut?!" Then I realized this post wasn't talking about posters but posers instead. My bad, haha.

I definitely listened to EITM on Thursday. What a good interview, though I'll admit that hearing they drove the entire way with no lights on kinda had me nervous for them, but they got them fixed for their drive back, thank god. :)

I loved how Eliott asked them about Rock Boat and who was on it and when SK mentioned Hanson, Elliott was like "Hey wait, I have to thank you guys for recommending them because we got them on your recommendation and they were some of the nicest guys" or whatever it was he said. It was unexpected but totally awesome to hear. And their songs. *sigh* I LOVE THEM!

Were you at the show at the 9:30 Club on Thursday? It was so awesome!
