Hey everyone,

My friend and I led a walk at the University of Redlands yesterday and it was amazing.  We only had 36 people but they seemed to be really into it and very inspired, many even walked barefoot with us!

If anyone has doubts or is on the fence about whether or not they want to host a walk, I say definitely do it.  It was a whole lot of fun and people seemed to really like the idea of choosing where their dollar will be donated.  We made shirts and flyers for the event and I'll be putting a video together in the next few weeks to show our walk, which also coincided with an AIDS Art charity auction.

It was also cool to see a few hanson fans there, but even cooler that most of the people were just University students interested in the cause.  Good luck to all the hosts and walkers during their events.

Keep walking!

Sheryl, I had a similar experience working with kids to support issues half a world away in Africa, and I don't know what you are planning, but with my kids I found they got really excited when we started raising money for Malaria No More. It's an organization that gives mosquito nets to people in Africa after you raise the money for them. This was a cool experience for the kids because they saw some pictures of what the nets look like and then had the opportunity to learn about issues like malaria, but the best part was that each net was $10, so they could actually calculate the exact number of nets they gave. It was just a more tangible result I think, and the kids really felt they made a difference, net by net.

My university is having an AIDS Day Art Exhibition and I'm creating some original artwork as well as offering a short film I created of my recent trip to Swaziland along with photographs.  The art will be sold for various charities, to be decided.
