I think majority of the fans from 97 have all grown and changed in some way. Most of us were the same age as the guys. I was 13 when they first came out and now I'm 24. I remember begging my mom to buy me all of those tiger beats and bop magazines, and I remember her saying, "You aren't even going to like these guys in a couple of years." So now every time I go to a Hanson concert I remind her of that. haha. The first time I saw Hanson was in August of 1998 on the Albertane Tour. Less than a week before the concert my mom was diagnosed with mulitple sclerosis. Their music has helped me through so much. Now that I am an adult, I admire them and everything that they have done. They are amazing idols, amazing singers and songwriters, they are amazing husbands and fathers, and they are still so amazing to their fans.

I remember the first time I heard MMMBop on the radio I was mad at my parents because they wouldn't let me go ride my bike with my friends *I was only 13* unless I cleaned my room first. So there I was trying to make my bed quickly before my friends left me and MMMBop came on the radio. I remember thinking, "this is kind of catchy", and that was the end of that. A few days later I was watching the weekly top 20 countdown on VH1 and MMMBop was #1. After that I was hooked. I was lucky enough to see them in Va Beach, VA. for the first time on the Albertane Tour in 1998. And again in 2000 when they played Bay Days in Hampton, VA. After that being so busy with school and extra curricular activities I wasn't able to see them in concert. I still loved their music and purchased every cd the day it came out. Luckily my life is nowhere near as hectic as it used to be and I was able to see them in October 2007 in Richmond, and in May 2008 and October 2008 in Falls Church, VA! Now I'm less than 4 weeks away from TRB IX and I think after being a fan for almost 12 years, I deserve my cabin that I've worked hard for. I'm very excited and I hope I have the opportunity to chat with the guys and let them know I am a devoted fan.

I am lactose intolerant as well... I have been for as long as I can remember. milk and ice cream are the worse, I just stay away from those all together. cheese and yogurt I have a higher tolerance for and can eat those randomly. I don't take medication for it because I don't believe in taking medication for it when I know that I will be just fine as long as I watch what I eat.

yeah I'm really happy that Tonic and Hanson are going to be playing on the lido deck on the same day - I'm going to be there the ENTIRE day haha! I also heard that shows on the Lido deck are known to go very VERY past the scheduled time b/c other bands will join the show... AWESOME!! haha. Also on Monday when Hanson does not have a show - SK6er are playing right before Tonic... I bet they may make an apperance at those shows.. *fingers crossed*

If I had one Hanson related wish... I think I would wish for just one day to hang out with the guys for a few hours, and to get a personal concert just for me and a few close friends. I think that would be awesome.

so my mom waited until yesterday to order for my christmas gift *even though I told her to order during preorder to eliminate the $13 shipping charge*... so does that mean that mine will not be autographed? I'm goin to be slightly nervous if I have to carry that thing on the rock boat with me.

I agree with AvrilHanson - it's not about HANSON, it's about WALKING. If people are only going if they get a "members only event" or an acoustic show afterwards, then they aren't going for the right reasons. Teeny

I have never personally experienced Hanson being rude to any real fan. I was at the Falls Church show 10/28 *where the TMZ reporter was* and that's the only time I've seen them be rude to anybody and that guy deserved it. All three of the guys hung out for a WHILE after the walk outside talking to fans. This was my second walk, but the first time I was ever able to go up to the guys and talk to them. In any case, my friend was supposed to go to the show with me and that morning woke up really REALLY sick. So I asked Zac if he could send him a get well message - drummer to drummer. Needless to say my friend just saw the video last week and so excited about it. Zac personalized the message and everything.
I don't know of any other band or celebrity that will hang out with their fans on such a personal level. In a lot of their interviews they mention fans as "peers" instead of "fans", and also seem to mention that they know they how special their fans are.
That's not to say I'm sure people have had bad experiences with them. I'm not sure I could keep it cool ALL of the time constantly having people grab at you, scream, etc.
In any case I've never had a bad experience and even if I did - I would still love the guys just as much. It's all about the music.

okay I called Carnival today. the lady I spoke with said that you will NOT need a passport to get onto the boat in Miami, nor would you need a passport to get off/on the boat while we are in port. You WILL NEED a CERTIFIED state issued birth certificate. I asked her if I could be a certified copy of my state issued birth certificate and she said yes. YOU WILL ALSO NEED your drivers license or another STATE ISSUED ID. (you will need this if you are flying into miami or ft. lauderdale anyway) Teeny

the person I spoke with at Sixthman told me a copy would do just fine but you may have to have it certified. I think it would seem crazy to have to carry your real birth certificate around. When I went to Cancun a few years ago I just gave them a copy when I went through customs and they were fine with that. *after 9/11*. =)

Hello, I worked for the cruise ships, and If I were you I would call Carnival Cruises and ask them what you needed!!!! Cuz I know that I denied A lot of people for not having the right documents and they lost out on their curise and their money!! It mostly matters on the cruise line.... Cuz most curise ships are international owned! Meaning that they have to fallow Admiralty law (Maritime Law & Jones Act.) Please Check with the cruise line on what they require for embarkcation and disbarkation throught customs!!!

That would be awesome if Carnival didn't refer you back to the US Department of Homeland Security. Call Sixthman, call Carnival, call the US Department of Homeland security. They will all three tell you that you either need a passport -OR- a goverment issued ID (driver's license) and a state issues birth certificate *NOT THE ONE THEY GIVE YOU AT THE HOSPITAL*

I only had roommates once. Last year two of my friends and myself decided to get this nice place on the water. Unfortunately I somehow ended up with the smallest bedroom, and had to share my bathroom with another roomie. For the first few months things were fine. The guy I was dating at the time was always staying over on the weekends or when I was sick and eventually one of my roomies got irratated with that. In any case, about 6 months into the lease I had a slight disagreement with the concrete parking lot outside of our place and shattered my arm and hand. After surgery I moved back in with my parents for about a month. When I finally went back to my apartment it was a complete wreck. There were 6 or 7 garbage bags FULL of trash in the pantry, there were dishes in the sink along with food on the counter. The kitchen obviously had not been cleaned since before I left. So I walked down the hallway to put all of my stuff in my bedroom and in the process passed my bathroom... which I could smell in the hallway - this also had not been cleaned since before I had left. The sink, tub, and toilet were all completely disgusting. There was trash overflowing from the trashcan in the bathroom - it was really bad. Needless to say - when I lease was up we did NOT resign. Now I live back at home with my parents - which kind of sucks, but at least everyone in this house knows how to clean up after themselves. I seriously doubt I'll ever have another roomie again.

the lady told me that I would not need one because the ports we would be stopping in would be US Ports. She said however, you would need a state issued id (drivers license) and a copy of your state issues birth certificate.

You do not have to have one to board the ship. I called sixthman about a month ago to ask about this - because if I could save the money I wanted to - and the girl I talked to at Sixthman told me that I did not have to have a passport because we are only docking at U.S. Ports. But if you want you can call Sixthman, everyone there is very very nice and very helpful. Or you can go to therockboat.com and there's a link at the top of the page for "live chat". You can only do the live chat during business hours which I think are Monday - Friday from 9-5 or 6 but you can ask them anything about the rock boat and they will have all of the answers. Teeny

my friend Anna and I would be down for one as long as it's the morning before the boat leaves. I don't even think we can start boarding until noon - boat doesn't leave until 4 I think. We could pull one off the day the boat leaves.

I can do either day. All of my family lives here in Hampton so I'm not travelling for Christmas. I wish I could give you some suggestions for a walk there - but the only places I've been there is Toads and the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart... so I really have no clue as to where would be a good place to do a walk. Probably through the city or something so we're actually seen!!
