Sounds like you've tried a lot of the different meds that are commonly prescribed for fibromyalgia sufferers. That sucks that you're not having much luck with any of them. Don't give up though, you'll eventually find something that works well for you it might just take a lot of trial and error unfortunately. Breakthrough pain can be common too, even when pain is generally well controlled.

Have you tried glucosamine (in addition to prescription meds?)? It's a natural compound found in healthy cartilege and has shown some success in treatment of fibromyalgia and arthritis sufferers. However it is derived from shellfish so if you are allergic to shellfish you may want to try a vegetarian version (which should be available in most drug stores/natural food stores). Combining this with omega 3/ DHA oils might be beneficial. Check with your doctor first though before taking any over the counter or natural products.

Also, another poster mentioned potassium supplements- NEVER take potassium supplements unless it is on the advice of your doctor. Although potassium is involved in regulating muscle tissue, a serum potassium level even slightly over the therapeutic range can lead to dangerous heart arrythmias and even heart blocks which can be fatal. Anyone taking potassium supplements should have regular blood work done (~weekly depending on dose...) to monitor the amount of potassium in their blood.

I'm a nurse and I've seen patients with fibromyalgia and arthritis, and know from their experiences how devastatingly painful these conditions can be :(    Good luck finding some things that work for you.

 And we all come,tumbling down.
No matter how strong
we all return to the ground.
In the days to come you'll say why did I wait?
You cant just leave your life up to fate.
You've got to turn it around before it's too late
