aw i'm glad what i say is so important that it gets quoted pages later!
yeah taylor can do whatever he wants on his own free time blah blah blah but considering singing is his CAREER, he should lay off the cigs. it ruins your voice, everybody knows that. he's fully entitled to smoke if he pleases, but considering the problem he had before with his voice, smoking isn't going to help.
that's just common sense, not being rude.
you want a piece of me?

This turned into a dumb post.
This is band where the STRENGTH is the singing of ALL 3 pinicipals.
To the vocal performance student who thinks Taylor has nodules, I'm a speech pathologist/voice therapist telling you he most certainly DOES NOT. Taylor is the one who most consistently uses vibrato, not Zac. Also, he is not TRYING to be a classical singer, he is a pop singer who is a natural talent at using his voice to style a song...using phrasing, volume, etc. That's his strength and it's a pretty important one when it comes to deciding who will sing the melody part in a band's songs. A lot of the band's success was achieved when he was carrying the load on the bulk of the songs...he sings the most on tour, so he tends to have the most vocal strain, but I heard him last night in Providence; his singing was strong and he's got NO vocal pathology. Zac doesn't carry as big a load, so he shows less strain.
They are EACH very good singers. I'm glad that people defended Zac in the post, but the overall tone of the post is pretty critical of Taylor too, which also isn't a very considerate thing.
Providence, FoxboroughX2, New York, Hartford! (and maybe Poughkeepsie and Montclair!) |

Blackout, why on earth are you wasting $40 a year on Hanson if you don't really enjoy their voices. I am not trying to be mean, but honestly if you don't enjoy them anymore, why not find a band who's voices you can stand. 8.27.1998 – 2.26.2000 – 9.25.2000 – 5.31.2004 – 7.17.2004 – 8.25.2004 – 9.27.2007 – 12.01.2007 – 5.3.2008 – 9.29.2008 – 10.12.2008 – 10.13.2008 11 years, 11 concerts, 1 mall promo, and still never met the guys!!! "For some reason people have a love-hate factor with Hanson. A lot of teen bands are criticized for being fake, but they’re not hated. I think it scares people that we could be real." ~Taylor ~*~ MIRANDA ~*~ |

ckout,I have to say that the man with the coolest voice on the earth smoked(the man with the coolest voice is Jim Morrison)
so i don't think it's a big problem if Taylor is smoking,lol.
All the rockers did it,why can't he?

they can all sing - it's sounds different, but that's the thing, which happens when you're not the same person^^
well, and if some of you don't like their voices (anymore) why are you still here then?

I adore ALL of their voices :) I honestly can't even pick on that's specifically my favorite, because they all have their special qualities that make them amazing. There'll be times, listening to things like Fire on The Mountain, when I think I might just love Zac's the most because it's so COOL sounding, plus he's got MAD vocal skills. And in fact, technically speaking I'd venture a guess that he's got the largest range and stuff. But then I listen to Tay in Follow Your Lead and Never Let Go and stuff, and I feel like maybe HIS voice is my favorite, because he just puts so much PASSION into it and it's amazing. And then I hear Ike doing Ain't No Sunshine and I think HE might just be the best/my fav! haha So basically yeah, the conclusion I've come to is that they have three extremely unique, extremely fantastic voices, and they're REALLY great at chosing who should do lead on which songs :) I can't imagine Zac singing Underneath, I can image Tay singing A Minute Without You, and I can't imagine Ike singing Crazy Beautiful. And yeah, again, technically speaking I might guess that their ranking might go Zac Ike Tay but I'm no expert on those things. And it by NO means that Tay is not technically a great singer. He really is. I just think Zac is SO versatile and has a RIDICULOUS range, and Ike has an AMAZINGLY strong, full voice. But again, I love all their voices equally! I just feel like if ANYONE lacks any vocal skill it might be Tay and then he makes it up through the amount of passion and emotion he puts in when he sings :)

He has a MAD falsetto, but then can also sing beautifully in his regular voice :) I wonder if some people maybe just don't like the sound of falsetto? It's definitely one of those things that can get a little bit.. much at times. And I definitely understand how people might get a little annoyed iwth it in the songs where he gets really heavy with it. But the thing is, that's just a vocal TECHNIQUE that he uses often, especially when they're doing three part harmonies- since he's almost always to top harmony part, as a guy he can't POSSIBLY hit those insane high notes without going into his falsetto voice.
And that's not to say that you're wrong for not feeling like he has a great range. I'm honestly no expert, I could totally be wrong :) But I just DO wonder how many people may think he has a "weaker" voice just because they hear his falsetto and assume that's all he can do. But on pretty much all of his solo songs, he's obviously singing in a totally normal voice, and I think it sounds amazing Hi, I'm Stephanie! *waves*

be helped that young male singers go through puberty and their voices change.its just a fact of life.hanson still made music all through those times though

yeah. Zacs voice is high,Ikes is low and Tays is the middle xD
but maybe some of the people don't like Zacs voice just because its very high, just like some of the people can't stand Axl Rose voice because it's so high.
But I love high voices.
I love Ikes voice too. It reminds me of Jim Morrisons voice(sounds funny, but it's true, lol)
But most of all I love Taylors voice xD
I don't know why xD
But I love it.

what i think is funny about zacs voice. is that when he sings, he has more of an acent then when he talks. isaac has the strongets accent of the three though and taylor jut inda lost his. i think its because he talks so much an the walks and in interviews that he just talks normal. 10/22/08- zacs birthday and most amazing concert everr!! <33
your enough for the rest of my life, darling, I surrender. <3 |
