Not Yet, But I Would Have Done One Last Year, Except I Don't Think Hanson Has Anything To Do With West Virginia History LOL :) |

"I titled my college essay "Rock 'N Roll Razorblade". But I didn't talk about Hanson at all. If you know the poem Watch Me Bleed, it's basically like that... only I didn't know about that poem before I wrote it."
I love that poem. I wrote it on one of my notebooks this year. It's a real conversation starter when people ask to read it. Then they see the Hanson symbol that I drew under it and ask me what it means. I love it when that happens. :)

Last spring I did a Rhetorical Analysis and created a conceptual metaphor that was implied throughout that letter to Hanson (that I never sent....) for my Rhetorical Theory and Applications class. I got a B+ therefore bumping me to ace the class. I almost wanted Hanson to sign the paper.. but face it
how ridiculously WEIRD would that look?
but seriously- thanks hanson. boooyaaa to an A in ENG 286

In my computer class, i did a 10 minute presentation about hanson, and in my drawing class (art), we had to make a magazine cover so, I drew a hanson cover. |

I went to a high school of the arts and was accepted for visual art. Each year we had to "hone in" on a different style of art. My senior year I did all of my art in the POP ART style. I did Andy Warhol like images of Hanson. COLORFUL! I have to say I focused on Taylor. I also painted many portraits of them playing. I used my concert experiences and my own concert pics for reference. I sent a lot of these in as my portfolio for college application...and was accepted. :) |

When I was in high school, I took a class called Vocal Music that was a solo singing class. One year we got to go to the recording studio and sing a song of our choice. I chose to sing A Minute Without You. :) I love that song! It was sooooooo much fun!!
Allison ♥ Thank you Hanson for an amazing tour!! Calgary Took the Walk on Nov. 2! :) |

Nothing in high school that I can remember, but when I was in the sixth grade (oh man, that was like...11 years ago?) I was in some gifted class, where we got to do an independent research project every year, and I BEGGED my teacher to let me do mine on Hanson. She said I couldn't do it JUST on Hanson, but said I could pick a theme, like "musical families" and fudge it so that most of it was about Hanson, lol...so I did. I don't remember all the other families I used...mostly Hanson and Jackson 5...also the Everly Brothers and The Osmonds, i think... But it was great, I had this big tri-fold board with facts and pictures, and a board game i made up, and what not...I have a picture somewhere, I'll have to find it. OH YEAH! And I'm in college now, so this technically isn't high school either, but I'm taking an advanced poetry class, and the last poem I wrote was about the walk I took in Dallas, if that counts...there's no direct reference to Hanson, unless you choose to read into the line "His flaxen hair wavering on the westerlies"...lol Dallas 98, 00, 08 - Wichita 08 I TOOK THE WALK! Ive done two things recently!!! 1. A couple of weeks before one of my italian teachers asked us to WRITE A LETTER TO UNICEF (IN ITALIAN) talking about a current need of children in any country and give them ideas on how would i help 2 solve it. Of course, I TALKED ABOUT HANSON. I posted what i wrote on the forums, but no one seemed to read it. Oh well, I got an A. At first I talked about the facts in Africa (thanks to Wikipedia and the Great Divide video). Then I talked about Hanson's story in Africa (very summarized and translated from the About section of hanson.net) and then talked about the walks, takethewalk.net and how they are helping (i translated a quote from Tay somewhere). I even SUGGESTED that they should have RECOGNITION IN UNICEF FOR WHAT THEY'RE DOING!!!! hahaha what do u guys think of that? 2. I talked about the walk im hosting in Puerto Rico to a teacher. She was so happy and amazed by the initiative that she told me: "Send me everything! I want to know more!" So i sent her everything. The next day I got an email from her. It was sent to me and all the students of her 3 groups. It said: "This activity is removed from our list and we'll replace it with this walk. THE WALK WILL COUNT AS A FULL GRADE 2 EVERYONE. You must go." -- haha isnt that amazing???!!! Why does one love? How queer it is to see only one being in the world, to have only one thought in one’s mind, only one desire in the heart, and only one name on the lips—a name which comes up continually, rising, like the water in a spring, from the depths of the soul to the lips, a name which one repeats over and over again, which one whispers ceaselessly, everywhere, like a prayer. --- Guy de Maupassant |

I'm an art student and everything I've done the past 2 months has involved Hanson. My professor is so sick of it, she was almost has excited as I was about my shows because for her it meant less Hanson related pieces when I got back and I could go back to my drawing/painting nudes and weird looking birds. I'm finishing a painting now that has nothing to do with hanson, it's so foreign to me. |

in my English class we had vocab words and for those words we had to put the definition and stuff also we had to make a sentence and add a picture. I found all of mine and they all envolved Hanson. Also in middle school in my social studeies class we had to cretae this world that had countries and stuff I called mine MMMBop or Hanson world. I still have it but off the top of my head I cant think of the name |
