I Took The Walk... shirt question

Okay, I want the shirt. But I want it to actually fit. So I was wondering who all bought the shirt? Is it like a T-Shirt type fit? Or, is it like a THIN shirt? By T-Shirt fit, I mean like their red The Walk man Shirt. And by Thin fit, is it really thin material, and it fits loosely. I weigh around 140, and in the T-Shirt I wear a medium, but in the womens T(shirts) i wear around a large, or X-Large.(because those type of shirts are a tight fit, and i have a big... well... bust) I'm sorry if this is confusing, because it is confusing to me. I was just wondering so I can know what size to get in this shirt. If you want to PM me about it or something, feel free to do that, or you can just reply here. Basically, in a nutshell, I need to know how the shirt fits. LOL. Sorry this is so confusing!! ____________________________ |

It's american apparel and they are men's sizes if that helps any. I don't know how their walk man shirt is but I bought the black shirt in a medium and it fits fine. I wear large in women's american apparel.

I bought the shirt last week. Normally when I buy concert shirts I try an extra large on first (I'm 5'10", 150 pounds) that was huge, so I went down to a large, and my sister said it looked good, so I bought it. In hindsight, it's still too big. It doesn't shrink either. The "I" part of the slogan ends up in my armpit. I think I'm going to re-order online and get a medium. It's not the thin material either. I would go to the apparal section and read the measurements and measure yourself to be sure.
Taking the walk, getting all their autographs, photos with Ike and Tay, shaking Tay's hand AND second row seats...could a girls first concert get any BETTER?!?! 9/26 I TOOK THE WALK! |

I bought this shirt and I got a large - the XL one was pretty big - and I'm not small! It fits similar to the Georgia shirt (which I also have in a L) but this one is a little looser. It is not preshrunk, however, so it will probably shrink a little.

lol, of course. That sucks. I shrunk a sweater once...I gave it to my friend so her baby daughter could wear it. 4.19.08 - Royal Oak, MI // 9.29.08 - Cleveland, OH "There are times that we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time that we fail to protest." - Elie Wiesel |

I am about 145 with a large bust, and I got a small. I tried it on after I bought it and it fits fine...I am hoping it won't shrink, though because it just fits so perfectly unwashed...lol.

I was wondering the same things about the shirt. I'm going to order one soon, since I didn't get a chance to buy one at the concert on Saturday, and I don't want it too big or too small. I also have a, uh, "generously sized" bustline... Lol. I'm also going to have my mom embroidery the dates from last years and this years Walk in Louisville somewhere on the shirt. She has a small sewing business and has a nice embroidery machine that will do it in like 2-3 minutes. Or would having the dates on there using a thin embroidery stitch look strange? |

I would probably get a small. The medium looked pretty big but they didn't have any smalls left at the Louisville show so I'm hoping they've restocked them by now. Can't wait for TRB 2009 |

Define big bust. I've got D's, and the large makes me look like a boy, so I'm going to re-order a medium. Taking the walk, getting all their autographs, photos with Ike and Tay, shaking Tay's hand AND second row seats...could a girls first concert get any BETTER?!?! 9/26 I TOOK THE WALK! |

The embroidery stitch could possibly look cool...depending on how it was done. The words and numbers are like paint-ish looking, so. It's possible it could look a little wierd, but if the embroidery thread had a bit of a sheen to it, that would work. I don't know if you can get "sheen-y" embroidery thread, lol. I've been no help here. Um. You'd definitely have to physically have the shirt for yourself to decide what you think would look okay. And I do think it's possible to add the dates, somehow even if not by embroidering them on, and have it look awesome. It's a really cool idea, actually. :) 4.19.08 - Royal Oak, MI // 9.29.08 - Cleveland, OH "There are times that we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time that we fail to protest." - Elie Wiesel |

I know it looks like paint, sort of, but I'm not sure how put the dates on the shirt and make it look the same. I've tired thinking of alternatives to embroidery, but nothing really comes to mind. I also thought about having her start from scratch with a plain white shirt, and put the walking man on the upper part of the center on the front, but I don't know if that image is copyrighted. She can scan things into the computer, and transfer them to the embroidery machine, so it would be easy to put the walking man image on there, then put the dates on the back. |
