I did not sterotype every American for knowing nothing. I only generalised them and complained about their lack of knowledge of what they don't see on the TV often or ever hardly. Truths that are hid away and kept quiet.

This thread makes me feel alot better about our upcoming election. - arguements aside- just because finally there are people here that have some of the same views as I do.

Obama has a pretty good lead in all the polls right now, but that's the way it always seems to go. Republicans get their sh!t together on Election Day and vote their guy in, while Democrats talk big for months and then forget what day it is.

 About the troops - what does "support the troops" even mean? It's just a meaningless phrase that gets tossed around. How does one "support the troops"? By sending care packages? By not critcizing the war? By ignoring the fact that some soldiers disgrace our country with their atrocious crimes? I know soldiers that I like and respect as honorable people. I know soldiers who I think are hopped up on testosterone and looking for someone to bully. I won't make a blanket statement about "the troops" as if they are an undifferentiated mass of clones with the same thoughts, backgrounds, and behaviors. So if that means I don't support the troops because I don't unconditionally assume they're all acting out of altruism, so be it.

Taxes will most likely be raised regardless of who wins the election.  Where do you think the money is going to come from for the war, bailout, etc.?

And if someone is making $250,000 or more a year then they should be able to afford at least a slight increase in taxes.  The Republicans are acting like Obama wants to take half your paycheck.
It's just a scare tactic.  If you don't want people to vote for someone all you have to do is say "he'll raise taxes."

It really depends how you look at it, I see it this way...

Yes taxes are going to be raised no matter who is in...

You are going to rather one or the other economically because thats whats more important to you, with my job, I work for the very wealthy, and I get to live/Lead that lifestyle, so Of course I dont want them to be taxed more...

BUT then I see it this way, My Boss presently pays out roughly 80grand per month to employees, YES thats more than most of us make per year, BUT the more Rich/People with big companies are taxed/the higher there taxed, the less people they will be able to employee...

So I rather taxes don't get raised stupidly for rich because there the ones that have cleaners/Gardners/Nannies( which I am one) and so on... so they are also, be it not as much as them, providing more jobs...

ALL of us work for someone rich, be it the macdonalds you work for/the local chain in your town, when it gets back to the orginal owner they probably have wealth, but I would rather there taxes stay at the roughly 35% and they keep a few more people employeed.

 ( I obviously don't agree with Obamas tax)

And I'm sorry but this make us as voters look stupid!!!

You don't go by what you have just heard, get of the jonas brothers site for 5 minutes/hanson.net for 5 minutes and damn well educate yourself.

You especially as a female are very privileged to vote... don't take advantage of it!!

First of all.. yes .. that statement right there my have be an idiotic statement.. What the hell does me sitting on the jonas brothers site have to do with anything?  I dont even go on there thanks.. :  ) second of all.. i do know some things about this election. im not going to spend every second of my life watching presidential debates and such. I know my opinions and where i stand on political point and im voting for the one that i feel will represent me the best and in that case it is McCain as far as i have seen as of right now.  so I'm sorry that i obviously have different political views than most people on h.net.  Please tell me where that is a crime. but thank you for pointing out my fault on that statement.
